With the Queen Anne dining table being as fashionable as it is today, it is quite easy to find reproductions of original Queen Anne tables or new dining tables in the Queen Anne style.
New reproductions of the Queen Anne style can be found in almost any furniture store. Dining tables in the Queen Anne style are perhaps the most common of styles sold for formal dining rooms. Often the dining table is sold with the chairs and perhaps a sideboard or cupboard. For some, buying the Queen Anne dining room furniture as a set is the best answer.
For others auctions or estate sales may be the best answer. If shopping for a Queen Anne dining table at an auction or estate sale, chances are you will find the table in solid wood. Many older furniture selections were made of solid wood whereas today some of what we see in the retail stores is pressed wood. I always prefer the solid wood pieces because of durability and their is so much that can be done with them that cannot be done with pressed wood. But that is another discussion.
The oval or rectangular shaped Queen Anne dining table usually has at least one leaf that can be inserted to extend the length of the table. In some cases the leaf is a pop-up that pops up and into place once the table is pulled apart. In other cases the Queen Anne style dining table is what is known as a pub table in which case the leaves are at either end of the table and pull out and pop up from the outer ends of the table rather than the middle. Still other styles of the Queen Anne dining table are the drop leaf table, often with gate legs.
Most retail tables that are reproductions in today's furniture stores are typically oval or rectangular with a leaf or two that can be added in the middle. Older Queen Anne dining tables usually have the other options, as well.
